Mike, 41, got down on one knee outside the city's Piazza del Popolo.
'They have not set a date yet but are keen to get married sooner rather than later,' says her rep.
Kate, 38, showed off her custom-made Forevermark ring, which has an ethically-sourced diamond, on TV.
