Madonna makes a surprise appearance on Twitter

Singer chats to fans on social networking site

Madonna is mum to Lourdes, Rocco and adopted David Banda

Madonna spent ten minutes talking to fans on blogging site Twitter.

The singer answered a series of messages via her manager Guy Oseary's account.

She responded to five posts, including one from a user who said they were happy she was single.

She even replied to a tweet from blogger Perez Hilton, who said he loved her. 

Madonna, 50, divorced Guy Ritchie, 40, in November after eight years of marriage.

The singer is rumoured to have split from her latest squeeze Jesus Luz, 21.
