Howard K Stern accused of supplying her with 'thousands of pills'

Anna Nicole Smith and Howard K Stern had a long-term relationship

Anna Nicole Smith’s ex-boyfriend Howard K Stern and two doctors have been charged with conspiring to supply her with drugs.

The trio are alleged to have fraudulently prescribed her thousands of pills between June 2004 and January 2007.

They are each charged with conspiracy and several charges of unlawfully prescribing opiates and other controlled substances.

‘These individuals repeatedly and excessively furnished thousands of prescription pills to Anna Nicole Smith, often for no legitimate medical purpose,’ California Attorney General Edmund G Brown said in a statement.

Anna died from an accidental overdose in January 2007, just days after giving birth to daughter Dannielynn.

She was buried next to her son Daniel, who passed away the previous September.

Howard, 40, and the doctors have been released on bail.
