Actor leaps into crowd at hip-hop gig in Miami

Joaquin Phoenix has also grown a bushy beard

Joaquin Phoenix turned on an audience member who apparently heckled him as he rapped.

He jumped off the stage to confront the man before guards stepped in.

The Hollywood star, 34, who has quit acting to pursue a hip-hop career, was performing at LIV club in Miami, Florida.

The episode was filmed by his brother-in-law Casey Affleck, 33, which has prompted fans to speculate that it was all a stunt. 

Casey is making a documentary about Joaquin's change of career, which is widely thought to be an elaborate hoax.
