Singer cannot speak in wake of criminal charges
Friday, 13 March 2009
Chris Brown has to stay quiet about the alleged Rihanna assault for legal reasons.
The R’n’B hunk, 19, was arrested shortly before the Grammys in February after reportedly leaving the Umbrella singer, 21, with ‘horrific injuries’.
‘While Chris would like to speak to his fans directly about this and other issues, pending legal proceedings preclude his doing so at this time,' says his spokesperson.
'Once the matter before him has been resolved, he intends to do so.’
Earlier this week, Chris pulled out of the Kids' Choice Awards. It followed an online petition for his name to be withdrawn.
‘He very much appreciates the support of his fans and the honour they have paid him in the way of nominations for Favourite Male Singer and Favourite Song,’ added the spokesman.
He is due to appear in court on charges of assault and making criminal threats on 6 April.

Every one needs another chance, so i think tat chris should have another chance because he didn't mean it. Every make mistakes and they don't realise wat they have done until it have happened. i think every one like human nature can make mistakes ,i am so happy tha Rihanna have a good haert to rescure Chris the guy that i love.for you Chris u have to know that Rihanna have the right oppossit when tings to wrong i hop a lifetime beetwen you and Rihanna(the girl that i love her songs more then every songs)And i hop that will never happen one more time beetwen you and Riha . may good bless you and Rihanna.
I agree!!!
Chris is a gorgeous talented kid, please reach out and offer him some help instead of cruicifying him.
Personally, I disagree. And while I do not know the full details of this case - I can't help leaning towards Rihanna.... However, I don't think that Chris's entire career should hinge on this case - at the moment it's hanging by a thread... However, as always it will be innocent until proven guilty. But I cannot help but point out the fact that if he had been some other 'nobody' then he would have been in jail the whole time. Either way, I won't judge either of them for how they live their lives or tell them what to do. They are young, inexperienced and have bright futures ahead of them.
