But singer does like the odd gin and tonic
Thursday, 12 March 2009
Pete Doherty reckons he’s started thinking more clearly now he’s quit drugs.
‘I’m off that kind of stuff, yeah,’ he says. ‘Complete abstinence is what they advocate - but the odd gin and tonic’s all right, isn’t it?
‘I’ve come into my own head a little bit really, being a bit more honest and open, rather than hiding in a crack pipe or wherever and just not turning up most of the time.’
The Babyshambles frontman, 30, who used to date Kate Moss, doesn’t think he’s ready for a relationship.
‘I just don’t want to inflict myself on any girl,’ he tells The Sun.
‘I wouldn’t want her to have anything to do with me or the people I know or my life as it is at the moment. They just don’t need it, you know?’
Pete’s debut solo album Grace/Wastelands is out on Monday.
