Comedian wants to get away from the limelight
Sunday, 22 March 2009
Justin Lee Collins plans to quit showbiz within the next couple of years.
The comedian, who is planning to host his own show in the spring, wants to lead a normal life.
‘Two to three years and I'm done,’ he says. ‘My plan is to open up a little bookshop near where I live.’
Justin, 34, hates being in the limelight.
‘I loathe it,’ he admits. ‘I love the work, but the other stuff I don't like.
‘I have this romantic notion of doing a very low-key, local late night radio show. Maybe I'll play the records I like and speak quietly to people who are ill in bed.
‘I'd like to do something where I don't have to sell anything - either myself or some kind of concept.’
The Justin Lee Collins Show debuts on ITV2 later this year.
