Celebrity Big Brother winner wants to raise awareness of bladder control condition
Sunday, 15 March 2009
Ulrika Jonsson is spearheading a new initiative to help sufferers of Light Adult Incontinence.
The Celebrity Big Brother winner struggled with bladder control after the birth of her fourth child.
But Ulrika, 41, overcame the problem by practising simple exercises and relaxation techniques.
‘The fact is that nearly five million women under the age of 40 suffer from this embarrassing condition,’ says Ulrika.
‘The reason I feel so passionate about LAI is because I realised that, as uninhibited as I am, I had never talked to anyone about it. I can't bear the thought of women suffering alone, in silence and feeling so alienated by this condition through absolutely no fault of their own.’
Ulrika hopes Always Envive and Wellbeing Of Women's Sense & Sensitivity campaign will help other women.

It's great to see the subject of bladder weakness so openly discussed in the media. I experienced this after the birth of my second child. I was told to do pelvic floor exercises every day but I wasn't convinced that I'd find the time! A friend then recommended a pelvic floor exercise DVD called the Pelvicore Technique from CoreWellness. I began following the exercises and soon noticed an improvement - I was no longer leaking when I laughed or sneezed and it helped me tone up my tummy. I haven't looked back since.
