Big Brother star steps up security in hospital

Jade Goody has been given weeks to live

Jade Goody was left shaken when a woman carrying a hammer confronted her at her hospital bedside yesterday.

The intruder entered the terminally ill Big Brother star’s room at the Royal Marsden Hospital around 3pm when her husband Jack Tweed, 21, had gone to the canteen to get a cup of tea.

Jade awoke to find the woman leaning over her muttering or praying, and immediately called for nurses.

‘She obviously freaked out,’ rep Max Clifford told BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat.

‘It's very distressing, particularly when you are so weak and so vulnerable.

'It has made her even keener to try and get home as soon as possible.’

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police confirmed that a 41-year-old woman was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon. She was later released.

Jade, 27, who was uninjured, has now stepped up security.

A Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust spokesman declined to comment.
