Chelsea star was frustrated over paparazzi

Ashley Cole is married to Cheryl Cole

Ashley Cole regrets swearing at cops outside a club in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The Chelsea star was arrested for being drunk and disorderly after partying at Collection in Kensington.

‘I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to the police officers on duty last night for my language,’ he says in a statement.

‘I fully appreciate that whatever frustrations I may have had with others that it was completely inappropriate to vent those in conversations with the police.’

Ashley, 27, claims he swore out of his frustration with paparazzi photographers, and insists he hadn't hadn't had a lot of booze.

‘Although I had consumed some alcohol earlier in the evening on a night out with friends it had not been excessive,’ he adds.

After spending three hours in a cell, Ashley was fined £80 and sent home.

It’s thought his club also fined him £160,000 - which is two weeks’ wages.
