Lee Mead: I was 100% sure Denise Van Outen would marry me

Actor was delighted she accepted his proposal

Denise Van Outen is seven years older than her fiance Lee Mead

Lee Mead was confident Denise Van Outen wanted to marry him.

The couple started dating after meeting on BBC talent show Any Dream Will Do.

And Lee popped the question 18 months later.

‘I was pretty much 100 per cent sure because we love each other a lot,’ he says.

‘You never know fully, but I was definitely 99 per cent sure.

'And I was so happy when she said yes straight away.’

Lee, 27, and Denise, 34, plan to keep the wedding low key.

‘We’d like it to be a private affair – we’re that kind of couple,’ he says. ‘'There will be no selling it to a mag.’

Denise was previously engaged to Jamiroquai singer Jay Kay, 39, but they split in 2001.
