Pete Doherty and Carl Barat are friends again

Pete Doherty has confirmed that The Libertines are reuniting.

The singer, 29, has patched up his differences with former bandmate Carl Barat.

The Libertines is going to happen,’ he says. ‘I didn’t twist Carl’s arm too far. He doesn’t take kindly to it.’

The group – including Gary Powell and John Hassall – split in 2004 after 4 years together.

Carl, 30, who recently disbanded his side project Dirty Pretty Things, is excited about working with Pete again.

‘I hate working alone,’ he tells The Sun. ‘It’s boring and I struggle with it. I do miss that support of being in a band.’
