Simon Cowell: I want to be frozen when I die

The X Factor judge hopes to be revived in the future

Monday, 23 February 2009

Simon Cowell wants scientists to freeze his body when he passes away.

The X Factor judge, 49, reckons doctors will be able to revive him with future technology.

‘I've decided to have myself frozen when I die,’ Simon told Prime Minister Gordon Brown at a Downing Street dinner.

‘You know, cryonics. You pay a load of money and you get stuck in a deep-freeze once you've been declared dead.

‘Medical science is bound to work out a way of bringing us back to life in the next century or so and I want to be available when they do.’

Nice one Simon Why shouldn't he, its his choice Yes it may not work, and those of us who have chosen to do it wont know that it hasn't worked. But if you dont try it, it certainly wont work. Also people seem to think its only for the rich and famous. But most people who are signed up are not famous and are not rich, Most take out a life insurance policy to pay for it. Look back in history and what medical advances have been made. Things that would have killed people then are easily cured now. The definition of death is changing. Once if you stopped breathing that was it, now they resusitate. Heart stopped, oops - now they can restart it - even fit a new one. Death now has to be Brain stem death. Cryonics is said to be an ambulance to the future
