The X Factor winner has prior commitment

Leona Lewis will not be appearing at the Brit Awards tomorrow night.
The X Factor 2006 winner is nominated for Best British Single for Better In Time at the annual music bash but just can't fit it into her schedule.
Leona, who flew back to the UK at the weekend with boyfriend Lou Al-Charma, went home empty-handed last year, despite being up for 4 gongs.
But her rep insists the 23-year-old is not snubbing the ceremony.
‘She is not attending due to a prior family commitment but she is delighted to have been nominated,’ Stuart Bell tells Now Online.
The Brit Awards take place at London's Earls Court tomorrow night.

She was not eligible for nomination this year for any of the major categories. The Brits have therefore not snubbed her this year. Similarly as she is not presenting, performing or likely to get an award she is perfectly entitled not to go. Particularly as she doesn't drink and from past experience would have to spend the evening watching others getting off their head on the free booze.
the Brit Awards are only for the favourites of the BRIT Trust and the Brit School, and they have refused to include any X Factor winners and finalists because of Brit School jealousy that the X Factors have outsold them 4-to-1 ...
Sure, "family commitment." Sounds more like diva behavior to me. Can't stand not to sweep the awards, so she decided to stamp her little foot. What exactly did she expect to win an award for? Her never-ending covers, imitating other singers, or not writing the majority of her debut album? Have some class!
