Leona Lewis too busy to attend Brit Awards

The X Factor winner has prior commitment

Tuesday, 17 February 2009

Leona Lewis will not be appearing at the Brit Awards tomorrow night.

The X Factor 2006 winner is nominated for Best British Single for Better In Time at the annual music bash but just can't fit it into her schedule.

Leona, who flew back to the UK at the weekend with boyfriend Lou Al-Charma, went home empty-handed last year, despite being up for 4 gongs.

But her rep insists the 23-year-old is not snubbing the ceremony.

‘She is not attending due to a prior family commitment but she is delighted to have been nominated,’ Stuart Bell tells Now Online.

The Brit Awards take place at London's Earls Court tomorrow night.

Have we got another diva on our hands here. You have only been singing for 5 minutes and there are singers out there much better who deserve recognition. Your time will come. Don't start acting like the big star just yet.

nonsense. If she's got better things to do then good for her. These poxy awards are a waste of time for the most part.

Well done Leona. You don't have to attend that pseudo award show where real talant is snubbed.BRITs are a JOKE.The execs(another joke) think they are the Gods of music industry. Its the people who decide who is good and deserve the prize. But we all know now that public doesn't mean anything to them. They decide who they want to win and trick public into voting to make money. WHAT A SHAME
