Alexandra Burke: I can't believe I've been given a deal in the US!

Alexandra Burke was Christmas No 1 with Hallelujah

X Factor 2008 winner Alexandra Burke is ecstatic about signing a £3.5million record deal with Epic.

The label is now lining-up the biggest stars to help her crack the US market and the 20-year-old could soon be working with Timbaland and P Diddy.

Alex, 20, will fly to the States next month to meet mentor Simon Cowell, 49, and she can’t wait.

‘Oh my God!!! I cannot believe I have been given a deal in the US!!!’ she writes on her blog. ‘It’s just so exciting and I can’t even explain how it feels. I’m just so happy, and of course so emotional!!!

‘I just can’t wait to get in that studio! Everything is still early days and so much is happening so I am still trying to take it all in but I am just on cloud nine!

‘Simon has been great and it’s so good to know he has faith in me! I promise I will make him and all of you proud!’
