Jade Goody leaves intensive care unit

Rep says she's in good spirits but still in hospital

Jade Goody will stay in hospital for the immediate future

Jade Goody is recovering following emergency surgery to remove a tumour from her bowel.

The reality TV star, 27, underwent a 5-hour operaration last Friday after learning her cervical cancer had spread.

But after spending a week in intensive care, doctors have now transferred Jade to a normal ward.

‘She's in good spirits,’ her spokesperson tells the Daily Mail.

Jade's boyfriend Jack Tweed, 21 - who was recently released from prison after being convicted of assault - is expected to be at her bedside on Valentine's Day.

'I can't spend the evening with Jade because of my tag [restricting him to getting home by 7pm],' he says. 'But I'll be doing something special for her.'
