Rachel Stevens didn't like being in S Club 7.
The singer says that she couldn't be herself in the band.
'S Club was aimed at a very young audience and everything had to be smiley-happy all the time,' she tells Live.
'It's hard to feel that positive every day. I struggled with it. There were times when it was difficult to keep up that facade because I had problems in my life and I didn't feel remotely happy.'
The group split in 2003 having notched up four No 1 singles.
Rachel, 30, was the runner-up on Strictly Come Dancing 2008.
