Singer gives birth prematurely to son Kit Valentine

Sophie Ellis-Bextor and husband Richard Jones now have two sons

Sophie Ellis-Bextor and her husband Richard Jones have become parents for a second time.

The singer gave birth to son Kit Valentine nine weeks prematurely at London’s Portland Hospital.

Doctors performed an emergency caesarean after diagnosing her with life-threatening pregnancy condition pre-eclampsia.

‘Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Richard Jones welcomed the latest addition to their family on Saturday February 7th,’ her agent confirms.

‘The happy couple have named their boy Kit Valentine Jones. Both mother and baby are doing well.’

Kit, who weighed 2lb 10oz, has now been transferred to an incubator and is expected to stay in hospital for several weeks.

Sophie, 29, and Richard already have Sonny, 4, who was also born almost two months early.
