Alex Curran says WAGs are feeling the effects of the credit crunch.
The mum-of-two, who is married to Liverpool footballer Steven Gerrard, is now more conscious of her spending.
'I get my hair done twice a week, but I’m not that bothered about pampering,’ she says.
'And I do my nails myself - the nail varnish I'm wearing was only £2 from a bargain bin!
‘I think people — especially WAGs — are becoming more conscious of spending money now.’
Alex, 26, and Steven, 28, who earns £120,000 a week, have daughters Lilly-Ella, 4, and Lexie, 2.

What she describes is not watching what you are spending. Being conscious of the credit crunch is not having money to spend on spoiled brat luxuries. Perhaps she should try living in the real world for a week.
as a scouser i feel totally ashamed for this girl. not in fashion sense but think that "oh woe is me" attitude is stupid and she should have really kept her mouth shut. "ooo i only go the hairdressers twice a week". with lack of spending people are lucky enough to once a year, never mind twice a week. Now hearing that people are being kicked out of their homes after defaulting, the unemployment is up 1.9 million this week and this ever so poor soul's only worry is that her nail polish is £2 quid so thats her contribution to the credit crunch. has she even thought about whether or not her lovely big house is in negative equity, bet she never has to worry about where her next mortgage payment has to come from. the news the other day was that charity shops are struggling for donations because a lot more poople are buying for them, so why if she is that worried why doesnt she take her possibly extensive wardrobe and give them to them, no dont make a big event tot auction them because she is basically a nobody with a perfume brand and a footballer husband. and before the whole "your jealous of her and her lifestyle" rebute, i will tell you now. I am not jealous, i actually am one of the few lucky people who have a job (as oppoossed to swanning round the city centre with a Cricket bag") and have a beautiful child and a beautiful boyfriend, okay hes not steven gerrrard, but hes not my type anyway. hes a chav and i dont go for chavs. The wags make me sick and it disturbs me that people pertain to be like you, only because you have someone elses credit card at their disposal. Only two wags i have respect for are cheryl cole, who was famous before she sold her soul to be a wag. and also Coleen Rooney, because she is using her Wagdi'dom to do something with herself. Alex Curran wouldn't last two minutes in the real world and i hope she remembers that footballers have a shelf life and it wont always be roses and daffodils. ooohh no i might have given her an idea on how to get herself on the box. do a peter mandleson and life like the "common folk for a month". dont bother. Next time alex sit down, shut up and leave the politics to the politicians.
