Patrick Swayze is urging for more government funding to be put into cancer research.
The actor is battling pancreatic cancer, and he's prepared to do all he can to help those with similar diseases.
‘I’m not alone. More than 1.4 million Americans will be diagnosed this year,’ the 56-year-old, who is resting at home after being hospitalised with pneumonia, wrote in The Washington Postlast week.
‘In the United States, one out of three women and one out of two men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetimes. Our individual battles should also be national ones.
'The time has come to take my personal fight to a larger stage.'
