Pair pull out of Grammys as he turns himself in to police

Rihanna's boyfriend Chris Brown is being investigated by cops over an alleged assault on an unnamed woman.

The singer, 19, turned himself in to police yesterday evening, and was released on £36,000 bail after being interviewed by detectives.

Chris and an unidentified woman were apparently arguing in a car in the Hancock Park area of LA when the alleged fight escalated and they got out of the vehicle.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the woman involved suffered visible injuries and identified Chris as her attacker.

Chris was booked on a charge of making criminal threats, and
police say he remains under investigation for felony charges of domestic violence.

'The exact charge was criminal threats and it is going to be investigated as a criminal threats investigation,' Sgt Bridgett Pickett told reporters at the Wilshire Division police station.

'There may be domestic violence charges added later, but that will be up to the district attorney’s office.'

Chris and Rihanna, 22, dropped out of last night's Grammys at the last minute, and had been due to perform at the ceremony.

They appeared together Saturday night at producer Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy gala in Beverly Hills.

A rep for Rihanna, told Access Hollywood: ‘Rihanna is well. Thank you for concern and support.'
