Stephen Fry blogs on Twitter while trapped in lift

Comedian posts picture of fellow stranded passengers

Stephen Fry hosts TV show QI

Stephen Fry was stuck in a lift for over 60 minutes on Tuesday night.

But the comedian used the time to blog about the experience on the Twitter website.

‘Ok,’ he wrote. ‘This is now mad. I am stuck in a lift on the 26th floor of [London’s] Centre Point.

'Hell's teeth. We could be here for hours. Arse, poo and widdle.’

At the same time, fellow bloggers were offering their messages of support.

‘Your brilliant comments are keeping us all (hysterically) cheerful,' added Stephen.

'Last I heard engineers still on their way. Hopes of early night dashed.’

The 51-year-old even posted a picture of himself stranded in the lift with fellow passengers.

They were eventually rescued after an hour, and Stephen immediately informed his fans.

‘We're free!' he wrote. 'Nice men from Thyssen freed us. Paramount Club had champagne for us at the bottom. I'm allergic, but nice thought x.’
