Jade Goody: I need Jack more than ever now

Jade Goody is determined to battle on

Jade Goody is recovering from an emergency operation to remove a tumour from her bowel, but having boyfriend Jack Tweed back by her side is helping her keep her spirits up.

Jade planted a juicy smacker on Jack’s lips in a tearful reunion just moments after he was released from jail on 27 January.

The former model had served just four months of an 18-month sentence.

Leaping from her car wearing a leopard print headscarf to hide her hair loss, Jade embraced Jack as her eyes welled up.

Bewildered Jack, 21, who emerged from prison wearing a hoody, almost lost his footing as Jade gripped him tightly around the neck for several minutes.

‘It’s absolutely brilliant having Jack back. I’m delighted,’ Jade beamed. ‘I spent last weekend preparing for his return – and I’ve painted my toilet walls bright pink and put a black chandelier in there.’

After their tearful reunion, the couple sped off in a blacked-out 4x4, followed by the film crew who are documenting Jade’s cancer fight. They then stopped briefly at Toys R Us in Harlow, Essex, where they picked up gifts for Jade’s sons Freddie, four, and five-year-old Bobby, who Jack caught up with later that day.

Now the pair are rumoured to be planning their wedding after Jade pledged to marry Jack on his release. ‘He hasn’t formally proposed yet, but we’ve been talking about it for months. There’s just an acceptance that it’s going to happen,’ she said. ‘I need him more than ever now.’

Jade was devastated when Jack was jailed for attacking a teenager with a golf club just weeks after she was diagnosed with advanced cervical cancer. But under the conditions of his early release Jack won’t be able to live with Jade at her home in Upshire, Essex – he has to observe a night curfew and will stay with his mother Mary in Buckhurst Hill, Essex.
