Intruders use machetes to try and force way in
Thursday, 29 January 2009
Sheree Murphy has revealed her £2.5million Cheshire home was targeted by violent thugs.
Intruders tried to force their way in using machetes while her terrified mum was inside with the actress's newborn daughter Matilda.
The star, 33, was visiting her footballer husband Harry Kewell when it happened last year.
‘They jumped over our gates and were trying to kick the door in – then they started attacking the door with knives,' Sheree tells the Daily Mail.
'Mum was so brave and managed to bolt the door as they were booting it, but the lock was coming away. A couple more kicks and they would have been in.
'Even when they saw her, they didn’t stop. It made them more determined to get in.
'I felt so bad for mum having to go through that – she couldn’t sleep for weeks. But she’s okay now.’
Sheree, who also has Taylor, 7, and Ruby, 5, with Harry, was told the news as she landed at Manchester Airport.
Harry will remain in Turkey until the end of the football season.
