A Harry Potter stuntman was injured while rehearsing an explosion scene yesterday.
The 25-year-old, who doubles for Daniel Radcliffe, was rigged up to a harness during a flying sequence when he was apparently sent plummeting to the floor.
‘It is thought he may have been caught by the explosion and hit the ground very hard,’ a source tells the Daily Mirror.
‘He told crew members who went to help him he couldn’t feel anything from the waist down. Everyone is just hoping he makes a good recovery. It has come as a terrible shock.’
The man, who hasn’t been named, was practising stunts for new movie Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, the final book in the wizard series.
‘Paramedics were called to Leavesden Studios after a man in his 20s sustained a significant back injury,’ says a spokesman for East of England Ambulance Service.
‘He was stabilised at the scene and taken to Watford General Hospital.’
It's thought he was transferred to another medical centre some time later and will undergo surgery today.
