Victoria and David Beckham's secret truce

After Posh cracked a smile in Milan recently, the tables have turned

Victoria Beckham had a satisfied look on her face as she flaunted a bold red dress from her own fashion range in Milan last month.

She couldn’t hide a smile at the Fendi cocktail party, before dashing across town with husband David to a Vogue party. It was a sure sign that not only are the couple strong together, but that Milan might just be working out as well for Victoria, 34, as it seems to be doing for her husband.

‘The couple did reach an impasse about David’s return to European football, but now they’ve called a truce,’ a source reveals. ‘They’ve agreed to go with the flow until Cruz’s fourth birthday on 20 February, then they’ll have a big talk and decide whether to stay in LA or come back to Europe.

‘One reason is that Victoria’s been bowled over by the reception she’s received in Milan. She’s buzzing with confidence now that she’s making such a splash there. For the first time ever, she feels like she’s becoming the powerhouse in Brand Beckham.'

Posh’s latest Vogue cover will be her third in a year for the fashion bible and comes on
the back of her lucrative deal modelling Armani underwear for £12 million. At the end
of last year, her range of dresses – known as The Dress Collection – virtually sold out on its first day on sale at London’s Selfridges, despite costing upwards of £650.

‘The trip to Milan has been an opportunity to make more contacts in the fashion world, establish herself among other designers and talk to cutters about the technical side of her collections,’ says our source.

Victoria’s finally found her niche and this time around it’s very different from when David was in Spain. Back then, she was often bored, lonely and just went out shopping, but now that she’s fully focused it’s a different story. It’s a strong base from which to decide where their future lies.'
