OMG! Kate Winslet refuses to fly with husband Sam Mendes

Couple fear they might die in air crash

Kate Winslet avoids flying on the same plane as her husband Sam Mendes.

The couple have suffered frightening air travel experiences in the past.

And they're said to fear they'll leave their children orphaned if they die together in a crash.

Sam was due to fly on American Airlines flight 77 that was hijacked on 9/11, before cancelling his booking.

And a month later, Kate was flying from London to Dallas when a passenger claiming to be a terrorist screamed, "We're all going to die". 

Kate, 33, has son Joe, 5, with Sam, 43, and daughter Mia, 8, with first husband Jim Threapleton.

‘Where possible, they do prefer to travel in separate planes,’ says their spokesman.

'It is not always possible but, for obvious reasons regarding the children, they do travel separately when they can.'
