Take That star was depressed after band split
Wednesday, 28 January 2009
Howard Donald considered taking his own life when Take That broke up in 1996.
The singer didn’t want the experience to end and thought about killing himself at the height of his fame.
‘I didn't want us to split...I was pissed off,’ he tells Q magazine. ‘I walked out the hotel and I wanted to throw myself into the Thames.
But Howard, 40, decided not to go through with his suicide plan.
‘I thought “Knowing me I'll end up in the middle of the river and the tide will go out and I'll be in the papers stuck in the Thames mud looking like a c**k”,' he jokes.
Take That, including Gary Barlow, 38, Mark Owen, 37, and Jason Orange, 38, reformed in 2006.
