Charlotte Church: Giving birth was a lot more painful second time round

Singer finding it hard to breastfeed again

Charlotte Church decided not to give birth in a hospital

Charlotte Church went through a difficult labour with newborn son Dexter Lloyd.

The singer, 22, gave birth to her second child at her home in Glamorgan, south Wales, earlier this month.

‘It hurt more this time because Dexter was in an awkward position in my pelvis,’ she says. 'He was all up close to my back.

'The contractions were really strong for a long time. I was shouting for pethidine, but by the time they got it ready I was ready to push. He was also facing the wrong way, then in the last 15 minutes he managed to turn himself round.’

Charlotte, who also has 15-month-old daughter Ruby with partner Gavin Henson, 26, is finding it hard to breastfeed again.

‘That’s painful as well,’ she tells OK! ‘It takes a while to toughen up.’
