Group in the running for 7 gongs

Oasis have been nominated for 7 prizes at the NME Awards next month.

The group are up for Best Live Band, Best Album, Best British Band, Best Video and Best Band Blog, while Noel Gallagher, 41, is in the running for the Hero Of The Year and Best Dressed Musician.

Bizarrely, Oasis are also included in the Worst Band category.

Alex Turner, 23, who is part of The Last Shadow Puppets and Arctic Monkeys, follows closely behind with 6 nominations.

Kings Of Leon and Muse also feature heavily in the list.

The NME Awards takes place at London's Brixton Academy on 25 February.
