Patrick Swayze: I want to stay alive until they find a cure

Patrick Swayze is undergoing chemotherapy

Patrick Swayze is hoping doctors will find a cure for pancreatic cancer in the near future.

The actor was diagnosed with the disease 12 months ago and he’s determined to stick around for as long as he can.

‘I want to last until I find a cure, which means I’d better get a fire under it,’ he says.

Patrick, 56, and wife-of-33-years Lisa Niemi are doing their best to remain positive while he is undergoing treatment.

‘The greatest source of strength is Lisa and the angels I have around me,' Patrick tells the Sunday Mirror.

'Part of me says I couldn’t have made it through without her. The other part says I could have, but not nearly as elegantly.’
