John Thomson gets full-time role in Coronation Street

Cold Feet star to become soap regular

John Thomson made a brief appearance as a children's entertainer on Coronation Street

John Thomson will return to Coronation Street permanently in the spring.

The Cold Feet actor, 39, played children's entertainer Jesse Chadwick in the soap last year.

And he impressed bosses so much he's been given a full-time role.

'I knew I was coming back this time because they gave me a surname,' says John.

Jesse is set to romance Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver), and move in with Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne).

'Producers went the extra mile to get him,' a source tells The Sun.

'He’s worked with Chris and Sue before and the chemistry between them was perfect.'
