Jamie Oliver: I wanted my mates to eat Jools’ placenta

TV chef planned to use it in chicken liver parfait

Jamie Oliver and his wife Jools Oliver have been together for 15 years

Jamie Oliver hoped to cook his wife Jools’ placenta after she gave birth to their second daughter.

The TV chef, 33, who has Poppy Honey, 6, and Daisy Boo, 5, wanted to trick his friends into eating it.

‘I asked the last time if I could take it,’ he says. ‘But they have to take it and do tests on it.

'I had written the recipe – I was going to do a chicken liver parfait with placenta, not liver.’

But Jools, who is now pregnant with their third child, wasn't happy about it.

‘I was going to get all my mates round to wet the baby’s head and I wasn’t going to tell them – then show them a DVD of me making it afterwards,’ Jamie tells the Daily Mirror.

‘But Jools wouldn’t let me, she is too sensible.’
