Trisha Goddard has revealed that her Channel 5 show has been axed.
The 51-year-old presenter, who has recently beaten breast cancer, says she is saddened to say goodbye to the popular programme.
‘I am particularly sorry for the fantastic crew and contributors,’ she says. ‘I enjoyed every minute working for Five an I am saddened they have taken this decision.’
The Trisha Goddard Show, for which she earns an estimated £500,000 a year, moved from ITV1 in 2004.
The show is thought to be a victim of the credit crunch – axed despite a steady audience.
‘It is with great sadness but in the present economic climate it feels like the right time,’ Five boss Dawn Airey says.
90 more episodes of The Trisha Goddard Show will be aired in 2009.
