Rugby star was over legal alcohol limit

Mike Tindall was stopped by cops on his way to a rugby match

Zara Phillips' fella Mike Tindall's been banned from getting behind the wheel for three years.

The 27-year-old's rugby star boyfriend was pulled over by police on 15 March when he was seen driving his Range Rover 'erratically'.

Mike, 30, was at the races in Cheltenham the previous day, where he'd had three beers, followed by seven glasses of champagne.

He later went to a restaurant, where he drank a further beer and a vodka and Red Bull, finishing around midnight.

A blood test found he was 11mg over the 80mg alcohol limit Reading Magistrates' Court heard.

Mike, who got a 16-month ban in 2000 for drink driving, was also fined £500 plus £75 costs and has been ordered to attend a driving awareness course.
