R Kelly finalises divorce from wife of 11 years

Couple remain on amicable terms

R Kelly's sold over 8million albums

R Kelly and his ex-wife Andrea have officially ended their 11-year marriage.

The couple, who have three kids together, separated in 2005.

The divorce was finalised on Thursday, their lawyer has confirmed.

‘The parties have reached an amicable resolution concerning all issues related to their marriage, and will share joint custody of their three children,’ reads a statement.

‘The details of this agreement will remain confidential and the family requests that their privacy be respected during this time.’

Andre, 35, insists they remained on good terms.

‘[We] have a bond that we will have for the rest of our lives because we have children,’ she told Essence magazine in 2007.

‘That we filed for divorce is not that important.’

R Kelly, 42 – real name Robert - was cleared of child pornography charges last year.
