Manchester United star uninjured in smash

Friday, 9 January 2009

Cristiano Ronaldo escaped unhurt yesterday morning after his Ferrari crashed into a roadside barrier.

The Manchester United player's £200,000 vehicle has been written off.

'He was involved in an incident,’ confirmed a Manchester United spokesman. ‘No other cars were involved.

'He's fine and is training as normal with the team.’

The 23-year-old has a fleet of cars including a £150,000 Bentley Continental GTC convertible.

He has also been seen driving two Porsche Cayennes, a BMW M6 and Porsche 911.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed officers were called to a road crash near Manchester Airport.
