Christian Bale remembers Heath Ledger at People’s Choice Awards

Batman sequel wins big at annual ceremony

Heath Ledger played The Joker in Batman movie The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight scooped five gongs at the People’s Choice Awards last night.

The Batman sequel won Favourite Movie, Favourite Action Movie and Favourite Cast.

Actor Christian Bale, who plays Batman, won Favourite Superhero.

And his performance with the late Heath Ledger as The Joker earned them Favourite On-Screen Match-Up.

Heath died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs in January last year. 

Christian, 34, dedicated the accolades to him during his acceptance speech.

'On behalf of all of the cast from the movie, thank you very much to the fans,' he said. 'Here's to Heath.'

Other winners at the ceremony in LA included Will Smith, 40, Angelina Jolie, 33, and Brad Pitt, 45.
