Sean Bean: I went on a pie diet in India

Sharpe actor shipped crate of steak pasties to film location

Sean Bean rose to fame as Mellors in the BBC1 adaptation of Lady Chatterley's Lover

Sean Bean has revealed he insists on his favourite British comfort foods when he's shooting abroad.

The actor admits that while filming Sharpe in India a couple of years ago he packed a crate of 70 steak pies to keep him going. But when he was out there last he says he widened his palate.

‘I was a bit more adventurous on the grub side,’ he says. ‘Most days I had chicken and chips.’

Sean also says he takes Henderson's Relish to add to all his meals.'[It's] like Worcestershire Sauce but tangier,' he explains.
