Singer didnt enjoy attending Catholic school
Saturday, 17 January 2009
Lily Allen isn’t a fan of Western religion.
The singer attended a church school as a child, but found the teachings contradicted her home life.
‘I don’t like Christianity much,’ she explains.
‘I was brought up in a Catholic school and they told me gays, adultery and drugs were bad. All my mum’s friends were gay, my dad was having affairs and there were drugs in the house when I was a kid, so it was a bit cruel.’
Instead, Lily, 23, is attracted to some of the Eastern faiths.
‘Hinduism is cool,’ she tells The Word. ‘But it’s too dangerous for me to rank religions. I’ll get into serious trouble.’
