Natalie Cassidy vows: I will lose weight again

The star's determined to be a stunning bride

Natalie Cassidy has now regained her curves

Happy and in love with her man, Natalie Cassidy can’t wait for her wedding this summer.

Her fiancé Ben Porter, 40, wants to be with her no matter what her size, but Natalie’s determined to lose a few pounds before she walks down the aisle.

‘She wants a traditional church wedding, although nothing’s booked yet,’ a friend tells Now . ‘It’ll be a big affair with a knees-up afterwards. Nat’s only a size 16, but every bride wants to look their best on their wedding day.’

Curvy Natalie, 25, famously slimmed to a size 8 in six months by following a gruelling diet and exercise regime that involved working out for up to two hours a day and cutting out fatty, sweet snacks.

Her Then And Now Workout was the fastest-selling diet DVD ever, but she found that she couldn’t keep up the strict routine.

‘It’s been a roller coaster year for Natalie,’ says the friend. ‘She’s had to deal with all the criticism for not being able to keep the weight off and it’s been quiet work-wise, too. She’s always been ambitious and has worked since she was 12 or 13.

'What she has going for her, unlike most girls from soaps, is that she’s a really good actress. But since all the fuss over her weight gain, she’s avoided the public eye a lot and hasn’t taken on any new projects.

‘The thing that’s cheered her up is her relationship. Nat needs to sort out her career – and her wedding plans, for that matter – but she’s happy with Ben. She hopes that getting married will motivate her to keep off the weight this time.’

Natalie’s old diet and fitness regime may currently be too daunting for her, but she’s vowed to make some changes for the better now that it’s a new year.
