Mum-of-two needs urgent treatment for blocked kidney

Jade Goody had to pull out of her pantomime role because she felt too ill to go on stage

Jade Goody is being operated on today to fix a blocked kidney.

The condition started developing before Christmas when Jade, who is battling  cervical cancer, began feeling unwell after a chemotherapy session.

‘I was really down on my chemo day and in a lot of pain,’ she explained.

‘My doctors decided to keep me in hospital. I had a blockage around my kidney.'

Jade seemed to recover but continued to suffer 'flu-like symptoms and was unable to continue with her panto role as the Wicked Witch in Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs in Lincoln.

Tests this week revealed the 27-year-old needed the emergency procedure, which is being carried out at London's Royal Marsden Hospital.

'Because she is so prone to infection, every op becomes more serious than it would be for a healthy person,' an insider tells The Sun.

Jade's agent confirmed: 'We are hoping she can come out of hospital again quickly.'

The former Big Brother star has 2 sons – Bobby, 5, and Freddie, 4 – with ex Jeff Brazier.
