Viewers complain over the Holby City stars win
Wednesday, 24 December 2008
Strictly Come Dancing has been hit by 1,500 complaints by viewers.
Fans of Lisa Snowdon and Rachel Stevens have reacted badly to Tom Chambers winning the series as he was bottom of the judges’ leaderboard in the final.
The Holby City star - who was saved from elimination in the semi-final after a voting blunder - carried off the winner's trophy, watched by 13 million people.
‘How could Tom win, when I couldn’t get through to vote for Rachel, as the phones were engaged?’ one viewer wrote on the Strictly messageboard.
‘We have to remember that the number of complaints are a tiny percentage of the number of people who watched the show,’ a BBC source tells The Sun.
‘More people voted than in any other Strictly final. There were several million.’
Tom, 31, and partner Camilla Dallerup charmed the audience with their cheeky final dance.
Runners-up Rachel & Vincent Simone and 3rd-placed Lisa & Brendan Cole chose sexier routines.

I think it's about time this farce ended completely
Well here is one who is glad he won. Well here is one who is NOT angry. His showdance knocked all the others into the shade. As for the others in the final - Lisa, Rachel who? Upset fans of these two need to get over it and get a life.
Tom's line was also engaged, I had to redial at least a dozen times before finally getting through. It's called perserverance. And at the end of the day if you didn't get through you saved yourself 15p!
How many is 1500 people compared to the 13 million people who watched? It's small talk... the proof was in the pudding
