Gwyneth Paltrow puts Chris Martin top of her Christmas priority list

The actress flies to her husband's side to hit back at marriage crisis rumours

Gwyneth Paltrow spent most of 2008 apart from her husband Chris Martin, fuelling reports that they were ‘on a break’, but she has rushed back to the UK to be by the Coldplay star’s side in the run-up to Christmas.

Now can reveal that the actress is determined to focus on her marriage.

For the first time in three years, Gwyneth, 36, even cancelled her appearance as the host of charity Lunchbox Auction in New York to fly into London. She was seen ‘bobbing merrily’ in the crowd at Chris’s Coldplay concerts in London’s O2 Arena in mid-December.

As speculation about their marriage reached fever pitch, those around the couple have done everything they can to dampen it down.

Chris, 31, dismissed 'break-up' stories in a recent interview. ‘I’m trying to think when the last bit of bad news was,’ he said. ‘I’m supposed to be getting divorced, but those things aren’t happening, so don’t really count as bad news.’

Although their spokespeople also deny any rift between the couple, our insider says that Gwyneth decided she needed to return to London as their fifth wedding anniversary loomed on 5 December.

‘She figured that if giving Chris a month of her undivided attention – spending Christmas with him – didn’t rekindle things, nothing would,’ says our source.

‘She fell in love with him watching him perform and found it a real turn-on, so she really wanted to recapture that by going to see him in concert.’
