Suzanne Shaw: Becoming vegetarian helped me lose weight

She bans meat and alcohol to beat the Christmas bloat

Suzanne Shaw has an enviable figure

Suzanne Shaw was determined to look trim on Dancing On Ice At Christmas on Christmas Day.

So the 27-year-old started a diet in November and she's kept up the regime over the whole festive period. She's given up mince pies this year and is delighted with the way she looks.

‘I haven’t been following any particular calorie-counting regime – I don’t have time for that,’ she told us before filming on 21 December.

‘I’m not weighing myself either, but hopefully I’ve already lost a few pounds and I can still lose a few more.

‘Every other year, I’ve overindulged, but this time I’ve been trying to get in shape. I’ve gone vegetarian – well, I’ve been eating fish, but no meat. I’ve been eating loads of veg and cut out fatty foods and alcohol.

‘I went off meat a little while ago and thought a meat-free diet would be the one for me. And it’s working – I’m feeling good on it.’

Suzanne, who lives with her fiancé, DJ Jason ‘JK’ King, 33, and her four-year-old son Corey - whose dad is Darren Day - says hard graft also helps her stay slim.

‘When you’re working, the adrenaline burns off any extra weight,’ she says. ‘When you stop, you can’t afford to give in to the temptation to overindulge.

'So I’m not going to break my diet yet – if I do, I won’t be able to get back in shape in time to start rehearsals in January for the Dancing On Ice tour.’
