BBC issues Jonathan Ross strict code of conduct

Bosses lay down the law with suspended presenter

BBC bosses are set to issue Jonathan Ross with a series of rules to govern his behaviour.

The presenter, 49, was suspended following his role in the Andrew Sachs radio prank controversy and now executives are keen nothing similar happens in future.

‘Everything he does will be scrutinised to the nth degree – and he’ll be told that’s what is going to happen,’ an insider tells The Sun.

‘These new rules could seriously crush his normally outrageous views as he’ll be extra careful what he says. Many fear the new regime could turn him into a shadow of his former self.’

It's thought Jonathan will be banned from making ‘sexually suggestive’ remarks and from ‘unnecessary swearing’ when his chat show returns in January.

Jonathan and Russell Brand caused a scandal when they left offensive messages for 70-year-old Andrew about having sex with his granddaughter Georgina Baillie, 23.

Friday Night With Jonathan Ross returns to BBC1 on 24 January 2009.
