Helipad built at The O2 for Sir Elton John

Singer will perform at venue on 31 December

Sir Elton John will turn up at The O2 arena by helicopter on New Year's Eve.

Organisers at the London venue have built a helipad especially for the star.

The music legend, 61, flew in from his west London home ahead of his gig last Saturday.

And he will do the same again when he performs at The 02 on 31 December.

‘Elton’s a legend and we were happy to do it,’ says a spokeswoman.

'And we’ll use the helipad again for future stars.’

Sir Elton lives with his civil partner David Furnish, 46.
