Strictly Come Dancing votes to be refunded

BBC to reimburse viewers after semi-final fiasco

Strictly Come Dancing: Tom Chambers and Camilla Dallerup shine in black and gold
Tom Chambers and Camilla Dallerup have made the final of the BBC show

The BBC will give viewers their money back following the Strictly Come Dancing semi-final debacle.

All three celebrities went through to the final after the public vote was scrapped.

‘The BBC recognises this has been an unprecedented situation,’ said a spokesman.

‘We will be offering refunds to anyone unhappy about their votes who would like to be reimbursed.’

Lisa Snowdon and Rachel Stevens gained identical scores from the judges, which meant Tom Chambers would be in the bottom two regardless of the public vote.

‘There was no fix, nothing underhand,’ Jon Beasley, the BBC’s controller of entertainment production added.

‘The votes cast will still roll over. If anyone is really unhappy then we will give them a refund.’
