Lynne Spears has come to the defence of daughter Britney’s ex-husband Kevin Federline.
The 53-year-old says he’s done all he can for the singer and their sons Jayden James, 2, and Sean Preston, 3.
‘He has been real good with Britney and doesn’t want to keep the kids from her at all,’ she says.
‘He’s not a bad guy and he has a good heart. I would have chosen a prince or a state governor for her, but Kevin’s worked a lot to help out and I can’t say anything bad about him.’
Brit, 27, handed him custody of the boys earlier this year.
She is now under the guardianship of her dad Jamie, who controls her estate, finances and wellbeing.
‘Jamie’s really doing well with Britney,’ Lynne tells Weekend. ‘I must give him credit for that.
'I’m sure she does feel reined in too tight some days, but that was necessary in the beginning.
'Jamie’s real gruff sometimes, but he’s been a disciplinarian when it was needed.’
